Under the direction of Jacques Heim, Diavolo has redefined dance, redefined theatre, and redefined thrills. Theatregoers around the world are wondering what sort of wizardry Mr. Heim will conjure up next for his daring troupe of performers. Diavolo takes movement, athleticism and risk to the extreme and creates surreal, sometimes Dada-esque tableaux in which the imagination thrives.

< Foreign Bodies

Esa-Pekka Salonen envisioned his Foreign Bodies as an imaginary scéne de ballet. Finally, with Diavolo, that is to be realized. Maestro Salonen conducted the L.A. Philharmonic in the world premiere of Diavolo’s choreographic take on Foreign Bodies at the Hollywood Bowl in September 2007.*

“…one of those rare events that define the art of this city when the levels of vision and support are equally exceptional.”

–Lewis Segal, Los Angeles Times

< Tombé du Ciel (Fallen from the Sky)

A selection from Diavolo’s extensive repertoire that accommodates each theatre’s production capacity.

*Foreign Bodies commissioned by Esa-Pekka Salonen and the L.A. Philharmonic, with additional support from the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, Cal State Long Beach, CA and Newman Center for the Performing Arts, University of Denver, CO.
