For ten years, David Lieberman / Artists Representatives was honored to have represented the Merce Cunningham Dance Company for touring in the United States and many other regions of the world. The 12-13 season will represent the first time in a decade when the organization is not front and center in this brochure. Though we viewed ourselves as a fully mature and capable management organization before MCDC joined us, our tenure with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and with Merce himself, was humbling. Through Merce, and his insatiable appetite for the unknown that lies around the next corner, we found ourselves and our mission reinvented, challenged and inspired. Merce’s courage infected everyone around him, including this office. Though Merce will not make another work, and the Merce Cunningham Dance Company will not perform again, we will carry the experience with us and reflect on that time as we move forward in our mission to support and promote the next generation of inspired creators.
