< Traveling Light
Joe Goode Performance Group’s newest creation
Traveling Light is a riveting work for an eco-conscious era. As we attempt to “travel light” into the future, what do we take with us, and what must we leave behind? With the international dialogue increasingly turning to eco-consciousness, Goode examines our relationship to excess. What is the role of fossil fuels, of synthetic materials, indeed of personal possessions? What does it mean to be “natural” and do we still have that capacity in this overtly technological society?

< 29 Effeminate Gestures
A choreographer and a chain saw provide for an insightful exploration of the paradox of gender language. 29 Effeminate Gestures was created a generation ago and introduced many to the special gifts of Joe Goode. This revival will introduce an American masterpiece to a whole new generation of dance audiences. Produced with support from the American Masterpieces program, a program administered by NEFA and funded by the National Endowment for the Arts. |
