Alternative Radio

Kronos Quartet invites radio host David Barsamian to join them for a special stage version of his program, Alternative Radio, giving new voice to issues and insights neglected by mainstream media. Kronos provides the prism for a thrilling musical experience which explores contemporary international culture – in such contexts as politics, economics and environmentalism – by interweaving discussions with scholars and other guests, led by Barsamian.

Black Angels

George Crumb’s epic work is a response to the agony of Vietnam and gives audiences an insight into a powerful early influence on the greatest music ensemble of a generation. This newly-staged production of Black Angels will be presented with other pieces from Kronos repertoire.

Awakening

A Musical Meditation on the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 Kronos creates an evening of music from around the world, unified by the themes of reconciloation and peace. This multi-media evening includes diverse music from Argentina, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Finland, Uzbekistan, Irag, India, United States. Original music and arrangements include the work of Terry Riley, Osvaldo Golijov, Michael Gordon, Dmitri Yanov-Yanovsky, and John Oswald.
