Launched in 1994 to great critical acclaim, Richard Alston Dance Company has grown into one of Britain’s most avidly followed contemporary ensembles and its largest independent company. Alston himself is revered as one of the icons of British modern dance. His position as artistic director of London’s professional dance training program at The Place, lends a strong curricular opportunity to all engagements of the company. Alston’s choreography is distinguished by his obsession for lyricism, beauty and balance in the structure of his work.
